Why Join?

The benefits of joining PEIHomeSchool.com are many: it provides homeschoolers with a Message Board where they can discuss any and all topics related to homeschooling, as well as other topics of their choosing; a current, quick reference section on the legal aspects of home education on PEI; a special "For Sale"/ "Want to Buy" page where families can sell or locate items that they may be in need of; a Calendar of Events where planned activities are listed; an E-Mail Notice system which keeps you informed of what is coming up, and many other features!

Who Can Join?

ANYONE with an interest in learning more about home education, or who is currently homeschooling, regardless of where they live.   There are certain membership acceptance guidelines which determine an individual user's access to specific portions of the site (mostly based on residency and reference verification [more on that below]).

How Can I Join?

All you have to do is to fill-out and submit the form below.  Please include a few words about your reasons for wanting to join the site and your current situation with regards to homeschooling.  You can become a member in five minutes, allowing you to post on the Message Board right away.  Full access may take several days and will be dependent on reference provision and residency.

What About My Privacy?

This site has been created with the protection of your privacy in mind.  As a member of PEIHomeschool.com, you will be able to access the site at any time, and will have a "My Profile" page assigned to you. Here, you will be able to customize any information about yourself, allowing you to decide what information you want to share about yourself. Where possible, you are given the choice to hide or reveal your e-mail address and name when posting or contacting others, at your discretion.  You can also choose who will be 'allowed' to view certain information submitted by you (i.e., viewable by PEI residents only, etc.).

Disclaimer:

Site owners reserve the right to approve or decline any membership application at their discretion, or to generally make changes as needed with no advance notice.  Once you are no longer actively homeschooling, or if you move away from PEI, your name will be removed from the membership list.  Please take the initiative and inform us of these kinds of changes so that we can keep our list up to date and keep protecting members' personal information.  We assume no liability for users' experience of this site; it is here to be a blessing and we ask that people use common sense and treat one another respectfully, in accordance with Christian principles.  If anything posted here is deemed to be inappropriate or offensive, it will be removed (in the case of content), and access will be denied (in the case of an individual user abusing their posting privileges).

If you are a homeschooling PEI resident, you may be granted access to the "Calendar of Events","Notices" (received via e-mail and viewable online), and have a greater level of access to the "Message Board". This level of membership is not automatic, however; as mentioned above, when you join we will ask for confirmation from someone who is known in the homeschool community here (usually this will be another member of this site), who can vouch for the fact that you are indeed a PEI resident and currently homeschooling.  You may provide all of this information in the text box above, when you apply to join; if you do not, approval of your application may be delayed until such information is provided.

Final Step

By submitting a request to become a member of PEIHomeSchool.com, I acknowledge that I have read, understand and agree to abide by the terms listed above.  Upon applying, you will automatically become a member of the site, with access to certain portions of it.  If you are a PEI resident and currently homeschooling or beginning to homeschool, and have provided references, your access to the Calendar of Events and the Notices system will take a little longer as the moderator will need to contact you directly and confirm your information.  Please do not apply more than once; a copy of your e-mail is sent to us and we process each one as quickly as we can, time permitting (it greatly helps to have your references included in your initial application, speeding up the process).  If you have any questions, please contact the moderator and we will be glad to help. - Welcome!
